O presente artigo tem por objetivo estudar o processo e o julgamento de Jesus Cristo a partir das narrativas contidas nos evangelhos canônicos, ou seja, aqueles que compõem o Novo Testamento da Bíblia, escritos por Mateus, Marcos, Lucas e João. Sem contrariar o axioma que associa os textos bíblicos ao sagrado, busca-se uma visão dos manuscritos como fonte de valor estético e jurídico. A estética da recepção, sob o enfoque de Jauss, conjugada com outros métodos e instrumentos pertencentes às ciências literária e jurídica, tem o condão de conceber uma interpretação de significados mais adequados, bem como a máxima concretização do conteúdo inserto nos evangelhos.

This article aims to explore the process and the trial of Jesus Christ based on the narratives of the canonical gospels, those comprised by the New Testament of the Bible, written by Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Without contradicting the axiom that associates the biblical texts to the sacred, this paper searches for a vision of the manuscripts as a source of aesthetic and legal value. The aesthetics of reception, under the approach of Jauss, combined with other methods and concepts of literary and legal sciences, has the power to conceive an interpretation of more appropriate meanings, and achieve the highest accomplishment of the content present in the gospels.
